Tiago Fonseca is a multidisciplinary circus artist. He is specialised on physical comedy and clown. He has an extensive experience of working at a variety of scales, from intimate street show to Opera houses with audiences of thousands. Tiago’s practice has benefited from a wide range of contexts, Circus, Theatre, Television and Cinema. Including over the last few years performing with several celebrated German Opera Houses.

He was born in Lisbon in 1986 and had his first theatre experience with fifteen years when performing and touring with the amateur theatre group “Cegada”. At the age of eighteen he graduated from Chapitô, Performing Arts school in Lisbon and in 2009 he finished with a BA the university of circus in London “National Centre for Circus Arts”.

For the past 15 years Tiago has worked with Mattress Circus, Cirqualition Locale, Bureau of Silly Ideas, NoFit State Circus, he works with Emergency Exit Arts where he co-created the character of Doctor Kronovator, a fire Laboratory show still touring. Circadian, Imagineer, Artistokraten, Theatre Company 1927, Komischer Oper Berlin, Deutsche Oper am Rhein and Staatsoper Hannover.
